Marjorie Taylor Greene Is the GOP
It is shameful that Republican leaders waited five days to condemn Marjorie Taylor Greene’s outrageous anti-Semitic comparison of masking to the Holocaust. Just follow the money to understand why Republican party leaders lack the courage to take any real action against Greene who is the de facto mouth of Trump since he was silenced on social media. Trump and the GOP have raised hundreds of millions on the Big Lie of election fraud and Republican leaders are fearful of taking any strong action that will alienate Trump and the MAGA Mob.
Trump May Be First President Charged with a Crime
A Manhattan grand jury will decide if evidence is sufficient to charge Trump and his associates with criminal indictments for bank, tax or insurance fraud. It will not be a surprise if Trump becomes the first former president to be charged with a crime. Trump has a long history of over 4,000 lawsuits as a defendant or plaintiff. Lawyer and author James D. Zirin wrote in Plaintiff In Chief that Trump “sued as a means of destroying or silencing those who crossed him.”
Why Republicans Need the Big Lie
More than half of Republican voters believe Trump won the election is a sign that loyalty to Trump will be the only issue in Republican primaries. That is why most Republican politicians have embraced the Big Lie knowing that it has created a crisis for American democracy. Not wanting to let a good crisis go to waste, the GOP is using the Big Lie to raise millions, pass voter suppression, and attack election officials in an anti-democratic attempt to win back Congress.
Cheney’s Little Big Lie: Voter Suppression
During an Axios interview, Rep. Rep. Liz Cheney’s refused to link Republican efforts to pass hundreds of restrictive voter suppression laws to Trump’s false claims of election fraud. This is the little Big Lie circulated by Republican leaders who are counting on racist lies and voter suppression to win back Congress in 2022. After decades of do anything to win election politics, lying to the American people is now firmly baked into the DNA of the GOP.
Arizona’s Election Audit is a Dangerous Grift
Do not dismiss the bogus election audit in Arizona as a ridiculous 3-ring circus. This is a dangerous privatization of our elections and escalation of Trump’s attack on our democratic institutions. Even local Republicans are calling it a dangerous “spectacle that is harming all of us.” This insanity is quickly spreading to other parts of the country to bolster Trump’s election lies.
Republican Leaders Oppose January 6 Commission
After 4 months of bipartisan negotiations that gave into every Republican demand, Trump and Republican Congressional leaders are now opposing an independent January 6 Commission. The bill passed the house with only 35 Republicans. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell officially announced his opposition setting up a challenging uphill vote in the Senate where 60 Senators are needed to overcome an expected Filibuster.
Criminal Investigation of Trump Intensifies
The Trump Organization was notified that a long-running civil investigation has been expanded to include a criminal probe. Fabien Levy, spokesperson for the New York attorney general said, “We are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan DA.” Trump and the Trump Organization are facing multiple civil and criminal investigations that include tax evasion and banking fraud.
Why McCarthy Opposes January 6th Commission
House Minority Leader Keven McCarthy is opposing the bipartisan January 6th commission because he is fearful of testifying under oath about Trump’s role in the insurrection. Despite overwhelming video evidence, Republicans are attempting to rewrite history and hide their own complicity in supporting Trump’s Big Lie that inspired the attack on the Capitol by white supremacists and insurrectionists to overturn the election.
Arizona’s Vote Audit is “Unhinged” and “Insane”
Local Arizona Republicans are calling Trump “unhinged” for his “Insane Lies” about the 2020 election. Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer, a registered Republican, said that Republicans must stop supporting Trump’s Big Lie of election fraud and blasted Trump for his false and unsupported accusation that county officials deleted an election database. Trump’s supporters who pushed 2020 election conspiracies are spending and raising millions to push the Big Lie in Arizona.
Tentative Deal on January 6th Commission
The House Homeland Security Committee has reached a deal for a January 6th Commission to investigate the deadly insurrection of the US. Capitol. Republicans have blocked the proposed commission for months trying to expand the investigation to include right wing conspiracy theories about Antifa and Black Lives Matter. The January 6th Commission still faces significant obstacles in the Senate where McConnell has pledged to block it.
Retired Military Repeat Trump's Election Lies
Over 100 Former U.S. Military leaders, including convicted Iran-Contra Affair felon Vice Adm. John Poindexter, signed an open letter repeating Trump's Big Lie and right-wing conspiracy theories about Biden and Democrats. It is a disturbing sign of Trumpism and white supremacy in our military. Current military and civil leaders have been raising the alarm that the radicalization of the U.S. military is a threat to our national security and American democracy.
Republicans Cancel Cheney For Not Lying
The Night before House Republicans voted to remove Rep. Liz Cheney from her leadership position, House Republicans walked out of Congress leaving Cheney to read her prepared statement to a mostly empty House. Cheney reminded her GOP colleagues that Trump “provoked a violent attack” on the Capitol “in an effort to steal the election” and that he is a threat to our democracy.
Republicans Purge Leaders for Speaking Truth
The Republican Party is purging anyone who refuses to repeat Trump’s Big Lie of election fraud. This includes the removal of Rep. Liz Cheney as the No. 3 House Republican in favor of a Trump loyalist who voted to overturn the election. Trump’s grip on the GOP is absolute. Cheney stood by Trump for 4-years is betting her political future on a Trump backlash.
GOP Controlled States Pass Voter Restrictions
Arizona is the latest state to pass restrictive voter laws ahead of the 2022 midterm elections. This is a direct attack on American multi-racial democracy by a Republican Party that has fully embraced Trump’s Big Lie. So far this year 8 Republican controlled states have passed voting restrictions laws in an attempt to disenfranchise millions of black and brown voters.
Republicans Raise Millions on Racist Lies
Since losing the election, Donald Trump and Republicans have used deceptive fundraising strategies to target small dollar donors in order to raise millions in PAC donations on the basis of election fraud and conspiracy theories. Following the violent insurrection of the capitol, Trump still left office with tens of millions of dollars raised for his new Save America PAC.
GOP Wave of Racist Voter Suppression
Using the cover of the Big Lie, Republicans have introduced hundreds of bills in 47 states to limit voting rights for millions of primarily black and brown voters. After 4 years of Trump’s “American Carnage” the Republican base has become smaller, but more radicalized. GOP leaders are counting on anti-democratic measures and targeted voter suppression to win future elections.
Republicans Defend Trump for Incitement of Insurrection
Republican leaders and conservative media attempt to rewrite history and defend Trump’s failed January 6th insurrection despite the overwhelming video and photo evidence. Repeating the lies of voter fraud and freedom of speech, the vast majority of Republicans side with Trump and either vote against impeachment in the House or for acquittal in the Senate.

Even after Trump incited a violent insurrection of the U.S. Capitol over baseless voter fraud claims, Republican allies continue to stand by Trump’s outrageous claims. The same lies spouted by Trump are now being repeated on the floor of Congress to further restrict access to the ballot box in the future.

Even after the Capitol was attacked by a violent mob of Trump supporters, a majority of Republican members of Congress voted to overturn the election. It was a cynical, anti-democratic vote to appease Trump and the MAGA Mob who believe his lies. It was a vote of sedition taken by political cowards and opportunists who betrayed their oath of office and the American people they swore to protect.
