Citizen Trump Is Not Immune

A Federal Appeals Court rejected Trump's dubious claims of presidential immunity stating, "Trump lacked any lawful discretionary authority to defy federal criminal law and he is answerable in court for his conduct."

The detailed 57 page court ruling made it clear that "former President Trump is not immune from prosecution," and that "Trump's alleged efforts to remain in power despite losing the 2020 election were, if proven, an unprecedented assault on the structure of our government." The court warned that "Trump's stance would collapse our system of separation of powers by placing the President beyond the reach of all three Branches." They rejected Trump's claim of "absolute presidential immunity", and the Court ruled "for the purpose of this criminal case, former President Trump has become citizen Trump."
